Tree Care.

Although we don’t trim or remove trees, we do offer an array of unique tree care services that help them to recover from the stresses of drought, construction injury, or other environmental problems if diagnosed early on. We recommend having your trees inspected annually to evaluate any changes in their health. Trees that die this year were in some way damaged or became stressed in past years and never recovered from that stress. Most of our services have a direct relationship with the root system to insure a strong healthy tree and help trees recover from any man made or environmental stresses.

Fertilization of trees is important, especially in urban settings, to insure a strong healthy tree. However, improper fertilizing may not help at all and even effect the tree in a negative manner. Soil conditions should be evaluated before any fertilizing is done.

Deep root feeding trees with organic products and “Bio- fertilizing” with Mycorrhizae fungi. We believe this to be the most effective way to feed and maintain trees as well as part of a program to help them recover from damage done due to drought or any type of construction within the root zone of your trees.

For damaged or stressed trees we also offer Vertical Mulching. This process is used on compacted soils and involves drilling vertical holes on a grid, adding wet organic products with allowing that to soak in, adding more organic materials and Mycorrhizae fungi in a dry form, and again filling with wet organics before covering over the holes. On a large tree this process can involve drilling over 400 holes from 4" to 12" deep.

Micro- Injection is a process of direct injecting insecticides, fungicides, fertilizer, or combinations of them into trees without the danger of chemical drift from spraying high into a large tree. The tree is treated as needed without releasing any chemicals into the open environment as they never leave the interior of the tree. By injecting instead of spraying, the treated tree is protected for at least a full season of control for disease and insect problems. More effective, lower cost, and environmentally friendly make injection the smart move.

The tree on the left was but one of six hit by a dozer or backhoe while this lot was being cleared. The life of this tree has been substantially shortened and my client will need to have it removed in only a few years and at substantial cost. The tree on the right, was one of several also damaged by a careless equipment operator. It will eventually heal over with care. Mistakes will happen but there is no other reason other than carelessness for the amount of damage we see done to landscape trees.

The tree on the left was “topped” and will eventually have to be removed - along with four others that were topped on this property. Utility lines were not a factor when these trees were topped. The tree on the right had it’s root zone covered with piles of soil for several months and was also parked under for the shade by construction workers that resulted in severe soil compaction in the root zone. We were able to save this and another tree by moving the piles away from the root zones and vertical mulch them.

Ken and Jo, Thank you very much for the top quality work you did when you prepared and hydroseeded our yard. We now understand why our neighbor so enthusiastically recommended you. Our lawn has gone from crabgrass and weeds to a really nice looking lawn in record time.  - Ron and Carol
