Hydro-mulching.
Sod quality at about half the cost! That’s a bold
statement but very true.
Hydro-mulching sometimes referred to as
hydro-seeding is a grass planting process. The
process is fast, efficient, and economical.
Hydro-mulching is more effective than conventional
seeding, thus a better value, and much more
economical than sodding, once again a better value.
The process begins by mixing fibrous wood mulch, a
tacifier, seed, water, and fertilizer in the tank of
our hydro-mulching machine and sprayed on the ground
as a thick slurry. Once applied to the soil, the
material enhances initial growth by providing a
micro-environment beneficial to seed germination.
Golf greens are often planted with this process.
Road side right-of-ways are often hydro-mulched to
help control erosion and quickly establish grass and
roughage growth.

Here is a couple of pictures of our

We did this project in 2003. In addition to plant
material, bedding areas were constructed, a Rainbird
irrigation system was installed, Zoysia sod laid,
and a hybrid bermuda lawn (pictured) was seeded
using hydro-mulch process. Sod quality at about half
the cost. We have also just completed the lawn next
door.

We recently had the privilege of hydro-mulching part
of the grounds at the new James A. Gaston Visitors
Center. This almost 16,000 s.f. center and the
surrounding views of Bull Shoals Lake and Dam along
with the White River make this a MUST SEE!

days later on Oct 19th. |

This hydro-mulch project was done July 1, 2006 with
hybrid bermuda.
Pictures below were taken several weeks later just
ahead of being mowed for the first time.
A Few Erosion Control Service Projects

It took a 500 foot run of 11/2" hose to get this
area done. Getting even that close, required taking
a truck and equipment weighing about 26,000 lbs
cross country through brush, stumps, soft sand, and
steep ground.

|
This is one of a series of retention ponds that we
had to back over 1/4 mile of steep narrow path to
get to. Some of the path was so steep that all 10
tires on truck and trailer were locked up and
sliding as we backed down. |

The area pictured above right and to the
left, flooded and washed out in a three hour
5" rain event. This is not lawn
installation, it is erosion control at it's
roughest. |

Hydro-mulching a bluff in a successful attempt to
stabilize the soil bank. Although we don’t have
finished pictures, there is native grass and
roughage growing on that bluff today.
